Transportation                                                                       

Van service is provided to Madison residents within the borders of Madison on Monday-Thursday, 9:30-2:30.  There are two stops at Chateau Thierry, 10:30am and 1:15pm.  All others call between 8:30 and 9:00am day of trip.  A stop at Shop-rite is scheduled every Monday with a 10:00am drop-off and 11:00am pick-up.  Once-a-month mall trips are also scheduled.  The 12-passenger van is handicapped-accessible and has a wheelchair lift.

MAPS (Morris Area Paratransit System) provides transportation for medical appointments throughout Morris County with stops at St. Barnabas Hospital, Overlook Hospital, and the Summit Medical Group.  Call 973-829-8103 at least one week in advance for a ride.

Meals on Wheels                                                               

Deliveries are made to residents of Madison and Florham Park who are homebound due to illness or unable to prepare meals. Volunteers deliver on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:00 and 1:00pm.  A $2.00 donation/meal is requested.  Sponsored by the Morris County Nutrition Project.  Registration required by calling 973-593-3096.

Midday Friendship Center                                              

Congregate meals provided by the Morris County Nutrition Project.  Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11:00-1:00 (??) at 15 Chateau Thierry, 973-822-3129.  Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00-1:00 at the Church of Christ, Fairmount Avenue and Southern Boulevard, Chatham 973-635-1508.  Call to reserve a space.  $2.00 donation per meal.

SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program)                         

Health insurance, medical billing and Medicare counseling.
Madison Senior Center, Tuesdays by appointment, 973-593-3095.

Telephone Reassurance                                                

Daily telephone calls are made to the elderly homebound living in Morris County.  The program is staffed by volunteers who make daily calls to check on the well being of clients and make referrals to area agencies when needed.  If a client cannot be reached, every effort is made to locate the client and ensure their welfare.  To register call VMC (Volunteer Management Center) 973-538-7200, ext. 12.  To volunteer at the Madison site, call 973-593-3095.
