Rose City Steppers: WHAT IS IT?
“Rose City Steppers” is a walking group sponsored by the Rose City Steppers Board and the Madison Health Department that encourages adults to be more physically active. Rose City Steppers work collaboratively with the Madison Mayors Wellness Campaign.
WHEN ARE THE WALKS?
We meet the second Saturday morning of each month and on Wednesday nights during the spring and summer. 2010 Steppers Walk Schedule
2010 Summer Walk Schedule
Special Event- On Wednesday, September 1, 6:30 p.m. at the Hartley Dodge on Kings Road. The Steppers will be joined by Judy Bortman from Morris County Trans Options. Judy will walk with the group and help us to recognize potential hazards, incorporate defensive practices and understand some of the dangers that pedestrians face and may contribute to. Plan to join us for this important walk!
WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?
The evidence is overwhelming that being physically active results in better overall health and mental functioning, reduced risk of chronic disease, weight control, and a general feeling of well being. And, it’s fun!
WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
Anyone may attend the monthly walks, however we recommend joining the Steppers and subscribing to our list serve. The registration fee to join Rose City Steppers is $12.00 for an adult or $10.00 for seniors (over 60). Registration is ongoing anytime during the year at the Health Department at 28 Walnut Street.
